Elsewhere Studios

ELSEWHERE STUDIOS

A Living Campus for Creative Learning & Community Culture

Elsewhere Studios has long been a place where artists come to focus, experiment, and connect with place. As we enter our next chapter, we are deepening our commitment to Paonia by expanding from residency-based programming into year-round, place-based education and community enterprise.

At the heart of this expansion is the Coyote School and the Muse Teahouse—together forming a living learning campus that serves youth, families, artists, and community members across generations.

THE COYOTE CLUB

A Cooperative Homeschool & Youth Learning Collective

The Coyote Club begins as a cooperative homeschool club designed to support families seeking rich, creative, real-world education rooted in art, ecology, culture, and entrepreneurship.

This is not a drop-off program. It is a parent-supported, artist-led learning cooperative where children learn by doing, making, teaching, and collaborating.

Core Focus Areas:

  • Creative arts (visual art, writing, music, performance)

  • Ecological literacy & place-based learning

  • Storytelling, media, and cultural studies

  • Practical skills & creative problem-solving

  • Cooperative leadership and peer collaboration

The Coyote Club creates a bridge between artists in residence and local youth, allowing learning to flow naturally through mentorship, collaboration, and shared projects

THE MUSE TEAHOUSE

The Social & Cultural Heart of the Campus

Located in the basement of the Elsewhere Studios building, the Muse Teahouse will be the daily gathering space that weaves everything together.

The Muse Teahouse will host:

  • Classes and study sessions

  • Storytelling nights and open mics

  • Community salons and dialogues

  • Youth workshops and presentations

  • Artist fundraisers and showcases

  • Informal mentorship and collaboration

It is both a classroom and a commons—a place where learning happens naturally through presence and conversation.

Rolling Artist Fundraiser — Donate Your Work

Elsewhere Studios and Coyote School are launching a season-long rolling fundraiser, featuring curated pop-up shops throughout spring and summer. We’ll also host a dedicated Elsewhere Studios / Coyote School booth at many of the region’s most loved community events.

We’re inviting artists to contribute original works, prints, small editions, handcrafted goods, or creative merchandise to help fuel:

  • Youth scholarships through the Coyote School

  • Artist residencies and teaching stipends

  • Community arts programming at the Muse Teahouse

Your donated pieces will be thoughtfully displayed, credited, and shared in alignment with our mission of cultivating creative culture and intergenerational learning.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Circulate your work in new community spaces

  • Support rural arts education

  • Invest directly in the next generation of makers and thinkers
