Local Creative Awards
The North Fork Valley has an abundance of creativity and Elsewhere’s mission is to support a diversity of artists while making connections between the Western Slope and the global community. With the support of the West Elk Community Fund, we are providing a variety of awards to the hardworking artists in our community in order to reinforce the fabric of our local culture and nurture a vibrant array of creative endeavors this summer season.
Elsewhere Studios will award approximately $2,000 through grants of various sizes, based on the scope of applications received. We ask that requests range from $50 to $500. More information is available in the application linked below.
Any self-described creative (musicians! painters! filmmakers! puppeteers! chefs! etc. etc.!) in the North Fork Valley may apply. No age restrictions. The funds may be used for supplies, space rentals, workshops, or anything that will boost the recipient's creative career. We anticipate hosting an award ceremony in the middle of June and invite the community to attend.
Applications are now closed. We will respond to applicants as soon as possible. Thank you!
Recipients of the award will be required to sign an agreement. We ask that all applicants review it before applying. View the PDF here.
Elsewhere is proud to offer funding for regional artists and creatives with the support of the West Elk Community Fund. The program started in 2022 and we hope to continue to grow the program’s impact for hardworking creatives in our community. If you’d like to see the program grow, please consider making a donation. The awards are intended to recognize and empower the incredible talent here in our own North Fork Valley. By providing funding to help local creatives take their practice to the next level, Elsewhere hopes to enrich everyone's experience of Delta County and continue to build a more inclusive and equitable community.
For 2022, the two winners for our Local Creative Award were Felicia Sabartinelli and Cayla Chicovsky.
